Overview of the Captek Fabrication Process

Step 1: Die Preparation

Pour Master Model and Prepare Captek Refractory Die.

1. The master die is properly spaced and undercuts are blocked out.
2. The master die is placed in the proper size duplication flask and a high quality silicone (Capsil) is poured into the flask around the master die(s). This is allowed to set for 35 min.
3. The master die is removed from the hardened silicone and an accurate high temperature refractory is poured into the new silicone mold. Allow 35 min. to set.
4. The refractory die is properly heat-treated. The margins are marked with a red pencil and an adhesive (Captek Adhesive) is applied to the die. Let air set for 15 minutes.
